Seasonal Closure

Redhead MTB Park is a city owned park that exists within the boundaries of state lands. While hunting is not encouraged in the park, it is not currently prohibited. To ensure the greatest level of protection from any accident or injury during MN’s deer hunting season, we close the park to cyclists, hikers, and ATV riders. The 2024 Deer Firearm Season A is November 9 - 24. Redhead will be closed for the duration of rifle season.

In addition to deer hunting, November is a transitional season of freeze/thaw cycles and snow accumulation. Until the ground is solidly frozen, the MTB trails can be damaged by use. In the event that the ground is frozen solid after November 24th but there is no base of snow, Redhead will reopen for MTB and hiking. Once the snow starts falling and accumulating, the park is closed until the trails are groom-able. Once groom-able, we’ll open back up for snowshoeing and fat biking.

Reopen Announcement: Follow Redhead MTB Park on Facebook for reopen announcements. Reopen announcements are also made on Trailforks and Trailbot.
